Our Mission is to preserve our ancestor heritage. Provide support, teaching activities, cultural development, and youth/group education for the Karen refugee community of Portland Oregon. The Karen Youth and Culture Literature Group was founded in 2008. Over the years, we have faced numerous challenges, including issues with transportation, limited resources, and insufficient funding. Additionally, there has often been a lack of enthusiasm among participants. Despite these obstacles, our committed leaders have remained dedicated to preserving and promoting our cultural art forms. Through their perseverance, we have been able to encourage and empower the younger generation, ensuring that our traditions continue to thrive.  Please click this link for more pictures.
